About Costcodle
Costcodle – Daily Price Guessing Game
Can you figure out what a Costco product really costs? Costcodle displays an item to you and gives you six chances to guess its price, with a win being a guess within 5% of the actual cost.
How to Play
- Study the Item: Check the product image, brand, and quantity.
- Enter a Price: Type your estimated cost and submit it.
- Adjust Your Guess: Follow the arrows and color hints to get closer within six attempts.
Hints & Tips
- Always Check the Quantity First: A box of 40 snacks will be priced very differently than a small pack. Check the count before guessing.
- Use Familiar Products as a Reference: If you have a ballpark idea of what something similar costs, use that as a baseline.
- Follow the Arrows: Up arrow: price is above your guess. Down arrow: price is below your guess.
- Work Between Previous Estimates: If you have a low estimate and a high estimate, pick a number in between. This is more useful than changing the price at random.
- Save Precision for Later: Start with a sensible rounded estimate, then adjust the amount as the clues narrow the range. The 5% target leaves little room for a careless final guess.
Experience
The tricky part is judging value by package size rather than appearance. I've found that a familiar brand can still throw off an estimate when the Costco version contains far more units than a regular store pack. Unlike Wordle, which relies on vocabulary, Costcodle tests price intuition and numerical reasoning; every guess should help narrow the gap.
