How to Play Shiftle

• Guessing with a Twist: In Shiftle, your task is to guess a five-letter word by shifting one letter within the word by 1-3 steps forward or backward in the alphabet. For example, you might transform "SNAKE" into "SNANE."

• Avoid Wrapping Around: As you shift letters, ensure that your guesses remain within the bounds of the alphabet and do not wrap around. For instance, you cannot shift "SAINT" to "SZINT."

• Color-Coded Feedback: The tiles will change colors to provide valuable feedback on the accuracy of your guess:

  • Green: The letter is in the correct position.
  • Yellow: The letter is correct but in the wrong position.
  • If the color of a letter in your word doesn't change, that letter is part of the solution.

Swap Shiftle: A Unique Game Mode

• Swap Shiftle Mode: This mode offers its own daily words and gameplay, akin to regular Shiftle.

• Tile Swapping: In Swap Shiftle, players can swap a single pair of tiles per row, providing additional hints to aid their guessing efforts.

• Execution: Tile swapping can be performed through double-clicking, dragging, or long-pressing (for mobile users).

• Mode Switching: Players have the flexibility to switch between normal and Swap Shiftle modes by clicking the two-arrow icon located in the top right corner.
